Any out there play double bass violin?

I've always wanted to learn! I'm learning how to play guitar, but that is the only string instrument I have ever played. Would it be useful to learn violin before taking on double bass? How much does a double bass general weigh? I am 5'2" and about 95 lbs., but by golly I will not let that stop me! :D
