Do french people really hate americans?

I,m afro-american from Cameroon. I speak a little french and I love french people, especially the guys. I heard most americans say french people are arrogant, stuck up and rude. And ive heard that the french dont like americans either. I personally love french people, actually most of them ive met are very polite and friendly. I normally end keeping in contact with them even after they have gone to france. I find hard to believe why americans dont like french people and if french people really dont like americans. what do you think about this?
